This past weekend I had my Golden Birthday. The day that comes around one time in everyone's life, If you don't know, its when your birthday is the same as the year you're turning. I turned 28 on Friday, August 28, 2009.
I had a great day, a fabulous party with a group of friends that I had mostly made within the former year. It's amazing how looking back you can see how so many things changed and came together. I never was one to keep a good journal- mine was more like once a year and only when I was sad that I didn't have a boyfriend. (Seriously, I found a journal from ages 14-18 and all I talked about was wanting to have a boyfriend or going on a date). When I wanted to write down thoughts or ideas, they always seemed so trivial to me. But even that 14 year-olds thoughts held some meaning years later, so you shouldn't judge. It seems like the years and days are moving faster and faster and I want to try and change that bad habit.
Thankfully, I have a boyfriend.
I passed the day that comes around once in a lifetime, so I decided to change, to focus more on writing down thoughts, staying in touch with my siblings and family, staying in touch with old and new friends. My sisters all have blogs and announce important things on it (like new children) that it's obviously become a staple and I should jump on the highway.
Thanks to the advent of technology (I have a Google phone and can blog in my car) and with my gift of typing about 70 wpm, I don't think this goal should be too tough.
